Meet Our Pack

Meet the people and Samoyeds behind Artek Design. Our dogs live in individual family homes within a close breeding circle. Explore each breeder’s story, meet their dogs and follow their litters as they grow.

Murik Samoyeds

...was established in 2021.
My first Scottish boy
, Artek, has been with me since 2016, but it was incredibly hard to find a suitable girl to breed him with. After I had imported my first girl, Enya, in 2020 (1 year old back then) and welcomed my first litter from my two much-loved Samoyeds, Artek and Enny. I established Murik Samoyed, called after one of my late beloved dogs, who I believe still walks with me and protects my pack and me, even now.

I chose to keep the two most promising girls when I couldn't find suitable owners interested in responsible breeding. In time, I met trusted, like-minded families who shared my values, and selected descendants of these girls were placed with them as beloved family pets and potential contributors to our breeding programme. This became the foundation of Artek Design and our collaborative, club-style approach to Samoyed breeding in North-East Scotland.

Astrowhite

....story began in 2022, two years before the kennel was registered. It began when Alba was imported from Poland as a war refugee and entrusted to close friends who shared our enthusiasm for the breed. In 2024, Alba and Artek welcomed a litter of six puppies, born on Christmas Eve and registered under the kennel name Astrowhite.

When the original partnership later ended, Kurt remained devoted to the Samoyed breed and established a different kennel, URSIC. The Christmas Eve litter remains the only litter registered under Astrowhite, while URSIC now continues Kurt’s (who owns several of our dogs) breeding journey within the Artek Design family.

Ursik Samoyeds

URSIC was established by Kurt, who first became part of our breeding family as a trusted guardian to several of our dogs. Through his dedication, responsible care and commitment to our breeding principles, he earned our complete confidence and gradually became the owner of the dogs originally entrusted to him.

Today, Kurt runs URSIC as his own independent kennel within the wider Artek Design breeding family. His females remain closely connected to our established bloodlines, with Crosby playing an important role in URSIC’s breeding programme. The name URSIC means “little bear” and is now carried by some of the most promising dogs in our extended family.
